Son Bayou is a Houston-based cumbia roots band, blending traditional Colombian rhythms with the vibrant energy of the city. Their live shows are a dance‑floor celebration, honoring deep folk traditions with an infectious modern flair.

Volcán Indie Orquesta Latina is a popular San Antonio-based band that has been creating intricate and energetic music since 2014, with songwriter and bandleader Jamie Mejia at its helm. The band often includes more than 10 members in its live performances, and their music draws inspiration from traditional sounds of the Caribbean, Mexico, and South America, with a particular focus on Cumbia.

Volcán aims to create a "Latin fusion" or "South American eclectic electric" sound. They are known for performing all-original music and have been praised for showing audiences that Cumbia is a vibrant and contemporary genre. The band's mission includes celebrating Latino culture and providing a fresh perspective on traditional Latin American music, which they believe was not always appreciated by younger generations in the past. Volcán is best known for its live performances, though they have also released a number of recorded songs. They have been an integral part of the San Antonio music scene, contributing to the growing appreciation of Cumbia and other Latin genres in the city.
